about
"Winning Hand" the latest from Vancouver punk band Brass sees the band at their fullest. The single marks the band's first release since the additions of bassist Kennedy Pawluk and guitarist Zach Mouallem. A chugging bassline guides the band as vocalist Devon Motz bellows an allegory about the twisted dynamics of privilege with a Viagra Boys like swagger. Recorded at Vancouver's Rain City Recorders with Jesse Gander, the track will be a part of an upcoming EP that will be the bands first with Early Onset Records. Stay tuned for more on that soon and in the mean time enjoy this peak into the next chapter of Brass!
lyrics
When I wear it, nothing scares me much
I wouldn't dare just, go on and give it up
I'm lucky too
I know you work so hard, I know you gave so much
But would you get this far? Without your Caucasian crutch?
You're lucky too (I didn't work at all)
You're lucky too (I wouldn't get that far)
We're lucky too (I'm gonna fuck it up)
We're lucky too (I'm just an idiot)
Don't you look at my winning hand, don't you look at my head start
Don't you know I wouldn't just go on and give it up?
Cause I'm lucky too (When I wear it all)
You're lucky too (it doesn't scare me much)
We're lucky too (I'm gonna fuck it up)
We're lucky too (I'm just an idiot)
